Three days ago, we set off from Lukla Airport to the comfort lodge in Monjo, 2800 m. All Everest Summit Lodges offer rooms with beds, shower, hot water, and toilet. The reception was warm, the kitchen fine, the service courteous. After the Hillary Bridge, the Everest appeared for the first time between rhododendron trees. The goal was the comfort lodge Tashinga, 3500 m, with a view of the summit of the beautiful Ama Dablam. This was followed by an exciting day trip to the Sherpa monastery Tengpoche. In the Gompa, we were able to participate in a monk's puja, with incense sticks, butter lamps, and the sound of bells. Today we have climbed to Khumjung-Kunde, the largest settlement in the Everest region. "Pistare, pistare ... - walk slowly ...", our guide recommends. Then we stand on the viewing platform at an altitude of 3933 meters and celebrate our success. The view of the glaciated eight-thousanders Lhotse and Mount Everest fulfills a lifelong dream! Today's walking time is five hours, never more than six. Now, through the Everest Summit Lodge Monjo, we return to the starting point Lukla and further into the Kathmandu Valley. There, the royal cities with their temples and pagodas await us.
